i must be truly sad..
i had dreams of ipods and apple store online with new products.. and then i couldn't remember my credit card details.. ahhhh.. it was strange..
i swear, if this whole event flops... i'm gonna throw all of my apple gear out!! lol..
there's so much hype.. the press is all over it today.. got it on bbc news, sky news reports.. IN YOUR FACE everywhere you go..

I have to agree with OP. I paid �500 for my iPhone (i work for a UK mobile network so wanted to use my staff sim rather than get on a 18/24m contract) on launch and every day I have to deal with snide remarks from people I work with. One with a WP7 and one with a Palm Pre. They usually revert to the antenna or flash argument which have never been an issue for me.
It's always unprovoked and usually occurs when comparing an app with another iPhone user, to which they'll bulldoze in and start wittering on about Steve Jobs or calling me a "fanboy"...heh
Nothing you can do but accept this will always be the case when purchasing an Apple product as I got exactly the same kinds of retorts when using my MBP or even the little Magic Mouse...

I'm guessing that valve won't get any love for Portal 2 (I know it isn't released yet, but come on it's gonna be amazing).
Seems a little short sighted when there is so much amazing software not yet in the app store, but apple seem to be trying to promote their store, which I'm still hesitant to use as the macupdate bundles normally keep me happy, likewise thee is so much filler and little killer, or maybe I'm just bitter that NI don't offer a Komplete update for a tenner (�200 I'm gonna have to spend soon).

Really, the only part i can accurately remember from MW2 is the DC section. I live in the south-east corner of PA so i've been to DC a few times (the DC zoo is one of my favorite places in the whole world). If i lived out west there would be nothing memorable about MW2.

Uh, no... the iPhone 4 was called the iPhone 4 because it was the 4th version of the iPhone (not because it came after 3 in 3G). If the next iPhone is called the 4S, that'd be the 5th iPhone model. So the next one after that would be called the iPhone 6.
It would go:
iPhone
iPhone 3G
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
iPhone 4S (or iPhone 5)

It is just stupid that they in the early years named the phones after features ( iPhone2="now we have 3G network" and iPhone3="now we have a faster phone with 3G network") and than suddenly switched to the generation number .... This is really confusing to many people (my favorite ones are the one that still claim that the iPhone 3G is the "iPhone third generation" ....)
I just hope they stick now with generation numbers and no more 'added feature suffix' .... so would the '4S' be for the bigger screen or for more speed ? - if they have both, would it be the iPhone 4SS ???) -> just bad naming schema.

Isn't the price on amazon cheaper(or at least as cheap as), and no tax?!
It is actually cheaper than the Apple Store. The only reason I went to Apple was because Call of Duty. It was the same price as Amazon in total, but I would rather give Apple the business since I own lots of stock.:D

He may be arrogant, but he deserves it. He's turned Apple from near bankruptcy to some of it's highest profits ever in just 10 years.
If anything, he SHOULD be arrogant.
He didn't do it by himself. There was a whole company working on things. The difference is that he had a vision of what should be happening.

You have no idea what "free" means, do you? Free software has absolutely nothing to do with the money you pay to obtain it. Commercial software that you would pay thousands of dollars for can be a perfectly good example of "free" software.

yeah i watched it to. everything they "revealed" i was like yep. tiger has that. but when they started to talk about reverting to previous versions of files with "ShadowCopy" the wise-ass speaker said "Its even better than time travel" and a couple of people who got the joke giggled. what an ass.
and yeah i am deffinatly gonna put that link to use, because ill be at school. and when i get home im not gonna want to go straight to apple like i do everyday. (ill probly get one one of my teachers computers and look anyway)

I wouldn't believe it. They allegedly don't tell their own stores anything because they feel they can't trust the staff (who are mostly college aged kids) not to post glamour it on their facebook, etc. No way would they tell another company like Radio Shack especially this early
Trust me Verizon employees do not know if they are getting the iPhone 6 months in advance...The boss's don't trust them to change out light bulbs in their stores, why would they give them critical data that could change their stocks????

The expense is enormous (retail: 32GB SSD $250, 64GB SSD $1500 vs. $150 for a 2.5″ 250GB SATA hard drive)
for apple, however, costs are substantially less for flash memory.
with the amount of memory they purchase, they are about the only company that can introduce this at a respectable price, imo.
