I've bought the first iPhone and have never gone back. I totally understand your situation lol, it comes with owning any luxury item. Usually its people who've never owned it themself that go bashing it. I personally haven't had as much encounters but I have friends who get harassed constantly lol.
The antennagate thing is the classic example of a non-user/owner reading some silly article and gripping it for every attack. None of my friends or myself use a case and we have absolutely no reception issues.
The funniest case was my friends colleague attacking him, saying it was the worse phone ever, most overpriced phone ever, its heavy! it has no flash! His Xperia X10 was miles better! Week later he buys his own iPhone 4 and stayed quiet about the topic. I rest my case.

Apple is usually slow to update things like Education pricing etc.
The Edu price will go down within a few days. :)
The old edu discount on the 20 inch was $699 (yesterday and this morning), so unless Apple drops the price AGAIN.
The price drops for the 20 and 23 inch are as follows
size � old (edu) -> new (edu)
20" � 799 (699) -> 699 (649)
23" � 1299 (1099) -> 999 (899)
I'm not sure on the 30", but I reckon it followed a similar pattern.

What are they, 12? I thought that was disgraceful. But then again, I hate all practical jokes. There's no wit or elegance involved in any of them. IMO, until the ipad gets this, which is entirely possible, it will remain more of a toy than a tool, and all these commercials will be nothing but fodder for the haters.

If we get a real file system in iOS 5 with could based storage and sharing, the iPad will get even more important in business.

The slow pace of messages here shows that this has gone from being important to the masses and the trolls to now be a small problem. Previous threads (those from before the videos and pressconference) added three pages in the time it took to read one, there was just no way to keep up with them. This has still not gotten much over 50.
It is interesting, but few considers the new iPhone to be broken anymore. No matter what you think of how Jobs handled it, he completely defused a situation that was becoming very hostile. I'm sure this will be taught and dissected at universities for years just as Intels poor handling of PR with the "faulty" processors is taught as the difference between dealing with companies and customers. This was a lesson for all and many key bloggers have already written pieces of how he changed the usual dynamics of apologizing for any perceived issue.

Heh, I've seen that video it's classic. However, if you were to say fair-is-fair, MS publicly announced their road map for what became Vista before XP even came out. Apple KNEW what MS was working on. No body knew what Apple was working on.
The problem was that all that MS publicly announced for "Longhorn" never really made it into "vista" So while everyone knew what MS was working on, MS was unable to deliver.

I don't read into the results as you might have. This doesn't seem to show manipulation in any of the areas of this photo that are contested and news-worthy. I see an image that has been reproduced and resaved maybe a handful of times before it reached distribution here...
Anyone have any guesses at the extra icons depicted in that folder? The last may be the new facetime, but what of the two before that?
It suggests that the folders have been manipulated, additionally looking at the pixel width and height they are not uniform, suggesting stretching.
Theres also no real reason why it should be a grainy image, even if taken with a camera phone.

Not quite. The data collection dialog was separate from the EULA agreement and was a voluntary opt-in. Whether you chose to opt-in or not did not affect how your device operated.
Personally, I opted-in. I have no problem helping Apple to maintain their location database.

Regardless, my point was that most people blindly click through those things (me included) and then get all mock-outraged when something comes up that was in the small print. It's taking a lot on trust to just click 'Accept' and most of the time it's OK... But check out the South Park episode for how it could go wrong..! :)
I didn't say that opting in to the crowd sourced database affected your device, I'm saying that now that the tin-foil hat brigade have an option to completely disable this cached database file, _that_ could affect performance for things like Maps because it will have to calculate position from new data every time.

The house is a little bigger than those drawings depict, as there are stairs leading to a downstairs that is not shown. Probably to the 5th bedroom that is mentioned, likely a downstairs guest room of sorts or something.
Agree with everyone else though. Simple, not over the top. I like.

I don't really get this... You already pay fees for the data - why do they care for how you use it?
It's funny because nowhere in europe (well, from first hand experience in UK/ Scandanavia), do the carriers prevent tethering, nor do they charge an extra fee for it.
They have data caps (100MB, 500MB, 1GB etc) but they don't care what you use it for. And this makes sense. Thus I can work from cafes through my HTC Desire, and as long as I'm not streaming video or downloading many podcasts then the 1GB/month is more than enough for my phone and occasional tethered usage.
For once Europe seems to be ahead of the curve to the advantage of the consumer when compared to the USA.
Because in the US they differentiate between data from a smart phone and data - it is based on the idea that a pure smart phone user is going to use a whole lot less data (due to the nature of the device itself) when compared to someone tethering it on a computer. In most other countries, such as where I live, there is no differentiation, there is one set of prices for data and whether you do it via smart phone, tethering, or 3G stick the telco doesn't matter because the data is all priced the same.
