I think, if at all Minister is being planned to be met , it is better only few problems are presented to Minister.
PROBLEMS IN INDIA MAY DILUTE THE FOCUS. I think the following would be best to present ..
1) Retrogression.
2) Social Security Treaty.
Numbers justifying above data can do a lot good to explain the problem.
I think VISA retrogression problem can be addressed to the minister. That itself will give BIG relief to thousands of people from India.Make a special VISA Quota for India is another good option. Minister can suggest this option to the US Officials and Senators ! He is scheduled to meet some US senators in DC and NYC.
This is great opportunity for poeple living in Maryland and DC area. It is easy to go and meet him personally ! Think about it guys....

1. Does it make sense to fill an I-9 form with the same employer and start working on EAD, instead of burning my remaining period in H1?
2. That way even if for some reason my I-485 gets rejected, I can continue working by switching to H1?
Thoughts....

I only have something to say, everyone is looking for its own turf, and if you really want diversity in the forum, the hard count will not attract anyone else other than Indians and Chinese. I am few months from working due to EB2- Worlwide category (current), so any change on the hard count is not on my benefit, same for anyone who is not from India or China, the EB3 is not current worlwide but the line of all the other countries is still shorter, if you really want to reach more than Indians and Chinese the goal has to be good for everyone, and the hard count is not. What the hard cap does is that say for example in the EB2 category the Indians and Chinese use up their quota. On the other hand the rest of the world uses only 50% of their quota (about 10K EB2 visas leftover, just a guesstimate).
1) With the soft quota, this leftover is given to the over subscribed countries in the SAME CATEGORY (Eb2). As a result, other EB2 candidates from India/China benefit
2) With the hard quota, this 10K now goes to UNSKILLED immigrants.
This amendment DOES NOT TAKE AWAY anything from the rest of the world at all! All it does is benefit SKILLED workers. Isn't IV about skilled workers? Why are some folks whose quota will NOT be CANNIBALIZED against this and consider this an issue of Indians/Chinese Vs Rest is beyond me. It is a matter of EB1 vs unskilled, EB2 vs unskilled and EB3 vs unskilled!

People travelling to India, especially from the West coast should fly via the Pacific. Asian airlines such as Thai, Cathay and Asiana all offer better fares, better service and faster transit times.Plus these countries are not trying to fleece people by requiring that they get a "Direct Airside Transit Visa". It happened with my family when they reached the airport to board their flight on Virgin , they were not allowed.I then bought tickets on Thai for the next day. To compound the pain, Virgin imposed a "No Show" fee on each ticket despite going to the airport. I think it would be best to avoid most European carriers, if for no other reason but they offer higher fares, terrible service, long transit times and last but not the least; the scam of the century(Airport Transit Visas). What do they think the passengers will try to do, jump off the walkway and make a run for it so they can settle illegally in U.K!I think the U.K govt is running out of ways to make money so they have found the most ridiculous way to make a few extra pounds from people foolish enough to travel on one of their carriers! DONT FLY VIA U.K. PERIOD!

Thanks for all the responses. My question is: Can one legally be on payroll of two companies and draw salary from them, both on H1? How about both on EAD? And, one on H1, the other on EAD?

I don't know if it is really easy to renew in US.Because i just filled the form with this link https://passport.gov.in/nri/OnlineRegistration.jsp?pocode=USAW and saved the application.I thought It'll save my details , but It looks like it sent the application to embassy.When I wanted to reprint the form it's asking the Web File No which I never received.May be I need to call them for this #.I tried to fill the form and save again.It's coming up with blank page without any Web File No.

The FBI name check is not a side problem that once we finish fighting other problems, let's come back and pick up another problem. This is one of the major obstacles in the GC and Citizenship process which unfortunately is not transparent and there is no data available to tell you when you will pass this obstacle. If the attitude of some of the members in this organization is the delay in FBI name check is not going to happen to them and it is only random and a side problem, think again and watch out for what will be coming your way. By no means, this is not a side problem, this is one of those hidden obstacles that you don't know it is in your way once you hit it...and once you hit it, you are stuck. There is no congressman, senator or individual to help you. If we are going to be united and make the GC process transparent, we should not hand pick some of the problems that we want to fight today and come back to other problems later. You are going to soon realize how gigantic the delay with FBI name check is.

Been with Ron Gotcher for over 5 years now. Never ever had a problem. The best thing is you can talk to him or his son anytime regarding any immigration issues. I had lots of H1 issues with my current employer and he was gracious enough to talk to my employer several times and help them out without charging me a penny. I would highly recommend him.

A Person needs a Valid US Visa or AP to enter back into US.
I went with a valid US Visa. I dropped my old I-94 while leaving US and received a new I-94 while entering US port (in Cruise).

Please dont forget to include that we can buy houses, create jobs but only this backlogs from INdia are holding us. And that we are legal Permanent applicants and Already here. Tell them we can help solve housing problem, create jobs.
