I say try to get as many shots as possible at your PCP. For TB and HIV tell him that you have been to India lately and want to make sure everything is okay. For other shots tell him that you are considering to apply for a medical/dental school and need to get vaccination records, which you don't have because everything was done in India. Take all those proof to immegration doctor, he will accept those records.
My wife in fact joined dental school last year. She needed only HIV.
You can ask PCP to give all the shots as part of yearly physical or mention that your immunizations are not current and you need those shots to be current.

We submitted our EAD application in June first week and we got our card this week, effective from last week of July for the next one year.
Our priority date is October 2006- EB2 and we are not current. So shouldnt we have been issued a 2 year EAD?
Also we gave our finger prints last year (July 2007 filer) but this time too both the EAD cards shows no FP available .
The EAD card of my spouse (he is the primary applicant says signature waived) I still have signature on my EAD card. Anyone else with the card that says signature waived. Previous card had his signature in there.

Pearson memo soft copy is here (http://immigrationportal.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=16204&d=1177965983)
I sent mine and spouse's 485 receipt notices and both the I-140 approval notices. I sent only copies. You really need to find the correct PO Box number of TSC or NSC to send the documents. My attorney sent the letter to NSC general service PO Box and I do not think that it was correct. I am planning to send the same stuff again to 485 filing PO Box.

Hey Everyone,
My brother is a US citizen who has filed an I-130 for me and my family in May, 2008. We've traveled to the US on B1/B2 visas in February, 2009. The thing about it is that in the DS-156 form point "36. Has Anyone Ever Filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on Your Behalf?" we've answered "No". I've had no idea at that time that it was referring to the petition for alien relative. Anyways, we've returned back home in time. Also, I've had 3 visas before (2 tourist and 1 student) and never violated any immigration laws.
Then in December, 2009 we've applied for F-1 visa and got denied. This time it was a DS-160 form that we filled out which replaced the old DS-156 form. It didn't have that question about the petition anymore. I think they've decided to exclude it because a lot of people were confused by it. Anyways, the consulate officer didn't like the fact that I haven't transferred my credits from 2 courses of University that I've completed in my home country. Plus my major differed from my previous education course.
So my question is. Is it ok to apply for F-1 visa while I-130 is pending? I mean we've been issued B1/B2 visas before. Even though we've answered "No" to that question, they saw that I had a brother in the US who is a US citizen. I'm thinking of transferring my credits and using same major course this time or at least similar. This way in the eyes of the consulate officer it will look as I am going to the US to finish my education. The thing is, I am planning to attend community college first in order to finish general courses and then transfer to the university. My major in my home university was physics and this community college doesn't have it. I may go with "general education" course at the community college and explain to the consulate officer my situation.
Is it even legal to apply for F-1 visa while I-130 is pending? I believe so. My another question is. Once I finish education. What's the next step would be? Will it be easy to transfer from F-1 to H1B visa while I-130 is pending? What about my wife and a baby who will be on F-2 status? Please share your thoughts. Thank you!
For F-1 visa, you need to show non-immigration intent; i.e., you do not plan to immigrate to U.S. In your case, the combination that I-130 is pending, you want to apply to a university that does not have your major, etc., sends a very bright red flag.

More H1-B workers in the labor pool and in GC Line ...so more outsourcing openings for Indian Companies ...:)
Adding more H1B is what every employer aspires. They don't want you to get GC soon enough so that you leave them for better prospects.
No one is going to raise the GC backlog issue. Is there a way by which the we can also ensure that companies also stress on reducing the backlogs in EB categories and re-capturing past immigrants visa as a interim relief as they lobbied for increasing H1-B caps

If DOS has set the priority date for EB2 India to Jun 2006, and USCIS does not want to waste visas, they have no other choice but to forward the processing dates at NSC/TSC. Even though the 485 processing dates may not move significantly in much awaited July Processing dates publishing, the August Processing dates bulletin will show the massive forward movement (485 processing date will reach till June 2006).

Some Bank Notary's tell that way.. Once I had the same answer. Went to another branch and got the notarization.. You can try different branches in your area.
For Photo - any light background is ok. Infact I did it myself thru online website and printed in walmart.. got the renewal in less than 10 days.
as per http://www.indianembassy.org/newsite/NEW%20PASSPORT.asp#1
The following documents and fee are required to be submitted with the application:
After having filled the application online, print a copy.
Affix photograph as per specification in the box (do not staple photograph)
 Old Passport (in original)
Additional booklet, if any, (in original)
Three recent passport size photographs (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm -front facial pose). Photograph should have only a white background. (Photograph with coloured or dark glasses or in uniform or in Polaroid prints or Computer prints will not be accepted). One photograph to be pasted on the space provided on the first page of the application form
Two proofs of residential address of the applicant, which may include current Driving License, Utility Bill, rent lease agreement showing the residential address.
Photocopy of the first five and last two pages of the original / old passport;
 Pages of passport showing US visa or Green Card (in original) Employment Authorization Card (in original) or other visa documents must be shown at the counter. A photocopy of the entire document / Card should be appended with the application (in case the application is sent by mail, a notarized copy of these documents should be sent);
 In case application for Green Card or EAC or visa is pending/being processed, a copy of documents in support of this fact must be submitted;
In case the current passport does not contain the name of the spouse and the applicant wishes to have it entered in the new passport, copy of notarized marriage certificate must be submitted along with the application.
I am confused with few things in the above list of reqd documents:
1.It says white background , But I am only able get Cream colored background photos in CVS or Walgreen's
2.When I went notary in Bank Of America , the lady at bank says that she can't do notary for any copy of the document , she says she can do notary for a Application form that is signed in front of her.Same with marriage certificate.
I am confused and I need to travel by the end of this month.I need to drive 10 hrs 1-way to go to the consulate personally.

Hello cool_desi_gc,
I downloaded the access database but could not find employee name in there. Is there any other way to get the labor record? Also I don't have the labor case number to match to this record.
This is for PERM data only.
Can you pls say how to find out for non perm cases?

my employment is terminated a month ago. I still need to file h1 transfer to the GC sponser. I am single
I am told that H1 can be transferred only with in 10 days-20 days or so. which means that it is already a month. so in case if I dont get the h1 or if I have an issue in the H1 transfer, is that the end of my being H1.
If I were to be on H1 again is it going to come under the cap along with those new H1 filers? I still have one and half years to complete 6 years.
I have a fall back to EAD though based an approved 140 and 180 days past 485.
But how do I get the spouse then???
Do H1 transfer (Premium processing) ASAP with AC21(similar job) and you should be in a good shape..

Hey, I have a question too
- How come people like me go red after 1-2 posts, and utter rascals here remain fully green even after redded by many?
Because you are a hypocrite.

Don't hold me against it, but don't get paranoid on these aspects. Most of the rules are common sense and there is some room for ambiguity :-)
Light cream is good enough.
Just take a copy and certify it yourself ( by writing true copy and affixing your signature). I am guessing there are people who review these documents and unless they see something fishy, there should be no problem.

i sent something like you have desribed in option 1 for my evl rfe. my lawyer drafter it and the only legalese reference was : [please continue his process] "as per section" yada yada yada "of the American Competitivenes in the 21st century Act".
Hi,
My attorney received an EVL RFE for my I-485 case. My PD is 2007 EB3 so I don't have any hope of getting GC but I guess they are just pre-adjucating my case.
Here is my situation - I filed my !-485 in Aug 2007 and changed job (without filing any AC-21 paperwork with USCIS) in April 2008. My attorney had looked at new job description and given green signal for change. My entire immigration history of 10 years in US is totally clean with no gaps and with all work autorizations.
Now, my concern is that the letter that my attorney has prepared for my current employer to sign has lot of legal lingo (AC-21 language, lot of CFRs, info related to my LCA and I-140) and has some language to the effect of supporting my LCA and I-140 till my GC is approved. It also states that my current employer was able to afford to pay my salary since the LCA date. My employer is fortune 5 company so money wise there is no problem but my concern is that they may not want to sign such a lengthy (wordy) legal doc without consulting their Immi attorney. I don't have much time to respond (only 8 more days). So if my employer takes long time or tells me that they can not sign it, I want to be ready with Plan B. Can someone suggest what should I do?
1 - should I prepare a simple document with job duties, responsibilities, start date, salary etc that my employer will be willing to sign. So at last moment I can atleast get that signed. Something will be better than nothing.
2 - Should I / (bigger question is can I) ask USCIS to give me more time to respond to RFE?
3. Provide simple letter from employer with an affedavit or something stating that the new job is same / similar as the old job.
Sorry for a long post and thanks for any suggestions.

When they approve a case then status clearly says 'Case Approved'.
The email "we mailed the document to the applicant" may be anything or nothing, like if they transfer ur case to different service centre, they send a notice. Some time they don't send anything even though the email contradicts it. Keep checking the status, they might update it later if the case has been approved.
Also, for AP keep bugging ur attorney to see if they got it. For EAD, make sure your mail box has your name clearly, otherwise they won't deliver it.
Thanks for the thoughts. My EAD was approved last week and I already got it in mail.
I aske my attorney's office and they say "document mailed" means its approved. I dont know what to make of it, guess I'll just wait to see something in mail.

Well as I said before it is not to be taken seriously enough so as to increase your BP...but I am just curious what is so special about Hanukkah that it is mentioned everywhere in western mainstream media and not Diwali?
