Is there a way to tell if my imacg5 has ever had a re-install of its operating system.

Well that was fun ....
I am not entirely sure everything is running right, i am doing one work unit every 26 hours on the mac... its the SMP client and its a dual core 2.8ghz .. i get the feeling if i were running it on my bootcamp partion it would be better plus then i could utilize the graphics processer as well
however i installed ubuntu on the other 3.06ghz pc and well lets say that folding doesn't like it ... so i am now installing open Suse... so far so good ...

am I the only one that thinks this is not enough?
I agree, it doesn't seem like all that much, especially if it's meant to store video. According to Wikipedia, Google processes about 24 PB per day.
I wonder how much storage Netflix has? And their catalog of streaming video is still hardly comprehensive.

It's wrong, and anyone who supports its use is sick, twisted and advocating for inhuman and unethical treatment of prisoners. There are no redeeming characteristics about torture that could possibly justify its use. Not to mention those who advocate torture are telling our enemies that it is ok to torture our prisoners. How could they? That risk is unacceptable.
Every "excuse" used to justify the torture authorized by our prior administration has been debunked, including that it led to finding OBL. That one tidbit of information (the nickname) came from someone who was waterboarded, but the information came much later during interrogation performed in accordance with civilized rules.

I thought I read somewhere on this forum, that these models can work just fine with only 1 processor installed....so this got me thinking -- if you only install 1 processor, then you could go with a generic LGA1366 i7 even though it only has a single QPI link. Is this right, or am I wrong?

I'm trying to change my Idisk Icon, but I can't find it in candybar under volumes or applications. Any Ideas? I'm on a trial version of .mac right now if that helps.

I KNEW something was going on with Apple with regards to Bertrand.
All the amazing benefits both with speed, less HDD space usage on a clean install, OSX in general (Darwin) and even server or core shells we owe to Bertrand Serlet; not this dingle berry kiss-arse.
I worry that OSX will go complete IOS with a larger screen & storage.
Bertrand Serlet ... you will be solely missed and I HOPE you still get to fiddle with Darwin in each open source iteration.
He's exit on this article I vote as a NEGATIVE!

Well, since I wanted everyone to use my watermarked picture, it was not the best idea. Most people quote their sources, but some don't. As Consomac is still a rather small website, consequences can be huge for us. ;)

You cannot set a webmail account to open when you click on a mailto URL. If you want to set up your e-mail account in your Desktop mail client (like Entourage) that is usually possible depending on what kind of e-mail account you have.

Where did you "get" it? Is this something you went out to the store and got, or does IBM provide your company with it, or is this an update and/or a download you find on the IBM site that anyone could install?

I bet the Japanese felt different, they were at war we directly threatened their national security through our political policy.
