Around here, I'm fairly certain it's around $4/Gal.
The cheapest gas station in the area is a good 3-4 miles down, and I still drive there to get gas.
The other day I saw it for $3.60/Gal, and filled it up. Honda Civics FTW.

Seriously, I had to write papers on this crap. It's pretty awesome. I took it as a lesson on how you can win any argument by changing the rules.

My understanding was different. I take it that they are taking the same stance that Wal-Mart is, and that is that if the movie industry allows iTunes to sell movies, they will make the record companies pay for it (in a negative way). The retailers aren't ready to take on iTunes and the online market, so they are going to use their power to stall the transition to digital downloads as long as they possibly can.
What Target is doing is anti Apple, and more importantly, anti the progression of technology and lifestyle.

Maybe it's just me, (and maybe this has been said before) but when I first got my "video capable" iPod, I was downloading music videos left and right. Then as soon as TV shows became available I got hooked on "Lost", "Battlestar Galactica" and more...but I quickly found out that the quality was not that great...
I still ended up buying the DVD's of the shows that I really liked, and for those movies that I want on my iPod (for travel purposes) I simply convert them to iPod format, the quality is far better than anything you can download.
Downloading may be convenient, but I will still run to the store for a hardcopy.
And I agree with some earlier comments, once the HD/Blu-Ray war is over and the dust settles, I will begin rebuilding my video library with the winning format, because I can't imagine (yet) trying to download those files.

RFID tags can be relatively large and battery-powered, such as ones used in toll collection, to small "passive" tags that can be embedded into credit cards, drivers licenses (called "Enhanced Drivers Licenses" in the U.S.), passports, or stuck onto a piece of merchandise.
Currently, cell-phone usage of RFID technology is centered around Near Field Communication (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near_Field_Communication) (NFC). NFC has three main usage scenarios: a phone acting as an RFID tag; a phone acting as an RFID reader; and peer to peer communication (P2P).
In RFID tag mode, a phone could be used as a payment device (like a credit card), an identity card, or act as a car key. In RFID reader mode the phone would be able to interact with tags in its vicinity. And in P2P mode, Bluetooth pairing can be streamlined.

I am not saying CR has no understanding of technology, however, Their fourth choice was Centrum.
They have gone back and forth over the years on how to test electronics. So many things are subjective, including picture quality, audio quality, gui usage quality....and they generally try to use "regular" people as the point. So they rate pretty much all HDTVs as having high points for video quality, even though there are clearly standouts to videophiles. And don't even get me started on speakers.
You really can't use CR as anything more than a single data point. You must find other data points to do research. But that doesn't mean CR is worthless, just shouldn't be your only tool.

Choosing to run it in osx over windows is just stubborness if you ask me. When all's said and done, you're getting the exact same experience on windows side while in-game, except higher performance.
The current mobility 4850s in the iMacs CAN run sc2 at native resolution with fluidity. I run max settings and native resolution, spare portraits to 2d, and get 30 fps-- never dip below 24fps. (This is on windows side, the mac osx side gets 20 less fps on average, which is pretty pathetic)Well, like you said, I get the same experience in OS X, just slightly lower graphics settings. Which is fine for me. However, for me, I just prefer to not reboot my mac just for SC II, when it runs in OS X as well. Besides, I normally use iChat or Skype to get voice chat working, which I have set up in OS X. I can't wait though for a week or so when I can then play SC II on my Mom's 27" iMac. I have more VRAM on my MBP, but her screen is so much bigger, so I can't wait. Has anyone played SC II yet on the 27" iMac?

Agreed. I also find it absurd that people think we can solve this now as opposed to over time. It took at least 8 years to get where we are, we can't fix it on one.

Updated the EFI and the beast is moving faster (I did'nt hear any loud fans), SMC was already updated so I didnt need to download it.

I think you mean an i5 or i7 ULV sandy bridge. The cpu will be much stronger but the graphics will be weaker (compared to the 320m nvidia chipset). Sandy bridge integrated graphics are twice arrandale graphics.
Don't fall prey to the megahertz myth. Clock speed is not all. I've got a 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 computer (desktop) and my 1.66 GHz core 2 duo (laptop) completely destroys it, even on single threaded tasks. Core 2 duo was extremely efficient compared to pentium 4.

i was actually referring to Arrandales not SBs. SBs are far superior compared to the Arrandales. The Arrandale ULVs arent exactly fast.

I remember reading on Best Buy Canada's website that if you pre-order the game you get access to the Beta... I wonder if that goes for Mac too or just PC. But yeah, I can't wait to see how well it will end up running on the 13" MBP with the "killer graphics"!

A gas tax is the way to go for most of the country, but I do believe that in some urban areas, a mileage tax may work. London's congestion charge was effective in reducing gridlock there.
Insurance rates based on mileage driven are also gaining traction.
One thing is for sure, the highway lobby is spending way more money than is available from gas taxes. It's time to rein them in. Most importantly, it's time to stop allowing housing developments to spring up without transit links.
