I have an old hard drive with windows xp, and I was wondering if I could do a boot camp from this hard drive? I have a USB connector for it too. I see lots of threads talking about using an external hard drive, but I thought this was a little different. I also have the old laptop parts too in case they are needed.

I've installed OpenOffice.org for OS X, and when I save files in MS-office formats (.xls, .doc, etc) they do not have any icon assigned to them. If I save in the native open-doc format, the icons appear. When I double-click the .xls files, they will open automatically with OpenOffice, but the icons are still blank.
How can I get these icons to be correct?

Sounds like everything Apple just went through with Antenna-Gate and the White iPhone 4. It happens to everyone.
I don't think this is the case. RIMM is not doing well.

Shares of Research In Motion Limited (TSE: RIM) fell by 15.1% or $-8.13/share to $45.7. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $44.94 and as high as $73.98. On average, 1956300 shares of RIM.TO exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 8273998. The shares are currently trading below the 50-day and 200-day moving averages which indicates that the shares have been experiencing downward momemtum. The stock may bounce back to test the 200-day moving average. Thus, you may want to pay close attention for a move up to the $55.63 area but be careful because the stock may face selling pressure at this level.

You are essentially asking if you can restore your computer from a backup when you've never backed up your computer. The answer is obviously "no."

It may be fun for play, but I cant see anything real being done on that. Most high end photo editors wont even use a trackpad/laptop...
Now if they can make it double as a wacom for a desktop and mirror the image form the computer.. now youre talking :)
And from a user standpoint, having all menus buried and no keyboard shortcuts, you're expanding the time to edit drastically.

It looks like AT&T automatically applied the Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile feature on my account. I've always had the 450 minute plan, unlimited texting, and unlimited data ($89.99 not including my corp. discount). I logged in and the Features page displayed Unlimited texting with no mention of Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile. Then I went to the calling plan page and it appears to have already been added.
Nothing in that screenshot indicates that the Any Mobile plan has been added. You should see it as an option on the Features page. You'll have to have an unlimited texting plan, though.

I have a 10gig weekly download limit at school and having to download a 600mb update every week for my iPod is annoying.
That's 10 times the MONTHLY limit for a lot of people in the world.
Just be happy.
The USA is spoiled rotten.

Does anyone have any experience/recommendations for binding a NAS to Open Directory for user/group authentication? A number of NAS will authenicate to Active Directory, but apparently OS X Server's Windows support is well below par to support this. QNAP have a firmware update expected July/August which will inbclude wider LDAP support, but is there anything that will work now?
