Thanks for the replies guys.
Unfortunately it panics even without the cards - turn on bong, them white screen with apple logo then grey screen with power symbol saying you need to restart your computer and over the top of it all some script about the 'unresolved kernal trap(cpu0)
Would it help if I posted the script or anything from it?
btw the ticking seems to be coming from the back of the power supply near the inlet. Non of the fans are twitching etc

If they are willing to sell the product at a $100 loss, that's their choice. You may not have a warranty, etc, because they aren't "authorized" by Apple as a price-controlled reseller, but that doesn't mean it's illegal for them to sell it.

Read the product reviews before buying. Some people are complaining that some games are impossible to play on the iPhone screen. Additionally, some games just can't cross over into a touch screen environment because of joystick limitations.

great, now Toast can concentrate on compatibility issues on the DVD-R side... i've had nothing but problems with my Plextor 716A (DL) and I can't burn higher than 2x without underrun errors on either my new MBP or the Plextor. Different media hasn't helped.
That's odd, my friend is using, well was, a 700Mhz G3 iBook with 640mb RAM and the same Plextor 716A FW drive which can burn at 16X :cool:
Same software, wonder what is going on with yours :o

AOL just announced something that allows you to back up 5GB of data. .Mac gives you 1 GB. AOL is free, .Mac costs $99. I understand there are other features, but AOL has most of them too. It's not worth the $$ until some major improvements happen.

Again, have you read the thread? I wasn't aware, "It costs more to execute someone than keep him in prison for life," was a "bleeding heart emotional response." I also didn't think, "It's impossible to be 100% certain," was emotional either. Funny, to me, these arguments seemed pretty fact-based. The only one with an emotional response is you, demanding blood.
It's impossible to be 100% certain is a crap response, because in many cases it is 100% certain, and i've named a few already. Also, the whole financial issue is very debatable and i don't think anyone here has solid figures on it. The only reason it may cost more to execute someone is because of all the appeals and court costs, this can easily be fixed so execution is the most economical way. I'm not going any further into this because my stance that some people are unworthy of life won't change. Peace out girl scout.
I referred to this case in the human versus animal value thread when a few posters said that any human life has more value than any animal. They would save the life of either of these guys over any animal.

Yes, because the hardware manufactured decided to use "GB" for Gibibyte instead of gigabyte. But since all memory (hardrives, ram) are in base 2, 2^30 = 1GB is correct.

1GB = 1 billion bytes; actual formatted capacity less. Song capacity is based on 4 minutes per song and 128-Kbps AAC encoding; actual capacity varies by content.
The "actual formatted capacity less" bit there is because computers read memory in 2^x formats, as you mentioned Gibibytes (GiB), Mebibytes (MiB), Kibibytes (KiB), etc., whereas manufactures spec memory (with the exception of RAM, I believe) in 10^x formats, or Gigabytes (GB), Megabytes (MB), Kilobytes (KB), etc. So, 1 GB=0.93 GiB. However, of course, most of the public doesn't understand GiB, so computers just report this as GB.
